928 Restomod by Nardone

My $.02:
Some of the things about the 928 are iconic....and should not be messed with.
These people took a 928 and changed every tiny little detail that defines a 928.
(I guess the outer door skins are still stock, but virtually everything else has been altered.)
Singer took a C2 and used early 911/various 911 race car ideas to built something very elegant.
And made it lighter in weight, along with more power.
A 928 starts out elegant. They are certainly considered to be automotive "art", by almost everyone in the automotive design world.
People looking to make body/interior modifications need to be really careful to retain this elegance.
For me, this concept lost way too much of the iconic 928 and thus way too much of the original dignity.

It's too overdone for my tastes. Looks like something straight out of Cyberpunk 2077.
Anyways, would have preferred if they took the same type of approach that Eagle did Making the speedster based off of the E-Type.
Instead they took a timeless design and made it look like a product of its original era, but with a modern 911 interior.

Styling tastes aside, I am glad the 928 platform is getting such attention and hopefully it will spawn more of these.
I also agree with those who believe this version loses a bit too much of the iconic 928 styling cues which make the original designs of both the early and later 928 versions timeless designs.
For me the headlight structure, although beautiful and very nicely done, loses a bit of what made the original versions so cool with the tear drop fairings and I loved their look when up. I have even played with the idea of making a desk top ornament from one just have have on my desk.
We'll see how successful this venture is for Nardone. I give them huge props for taking such a venture on!
Cheers.

There have been so many of these vaporware cars that I just assumed this was another virtual CGI rendering project. Tough to tell where it's real (is any of it real?) and where it's photoshop, the interior pic feels like they took a '79 passenger footwell in cork and mated it with a rendered dashboard from a hot wheels car, scaled up 64-fold.
I do hope they're successful with it, the costs associated with doing this low volume work must be astronomical.

"5 speed gearbox converted to 6 speed" "active controlled electronic suspension"
Talk is cheap; it would be a miracle to build the car on that sheet and make money selling it at half a million.

I am known to like the original 928 shape in all its model years. Like Greg mentioned earlier, messing with an iconic shape will lose what most have appreciate in the car which has remained elegant through the years much less stand the test of time. On the mechanical aspect, I think we have seen much development by a number of gentlemen in this forum that would turn the 928 into a super solid daily driver (which it started as anyhow), and address many of the engineering shortcomings it might have had.
I would rather see someone do a Singer style approach bringing bespoke craftsmanship to the assembly, fit and finish while mating it to the best enhancements mechanically as seen from the group innovators. My 5c.
As far as this car is... i think it will go down into the oblivion like the Stroseks and Gemballas of the 80s - just too too much.

I think it looks great as a design study but nothing more. Great choice of exterior and interior colour, but I'm biased as that is exactly my car! The front I don't like much, it's too chin heavy and I'm not sure I understand the headlights. Why do they look like spotlights off a boat or something? The rear does it for me, I think it looks fabulous. Wheels are interesting; a reimagining of the Fuchs flats, and that is surprising as I'm sure everyone expected homage to the teledials instead.
