This '77 '78 '79 thing is a little confusing at times, since it seems a few countries title vehicles based on the year it was registered, not the model year.
We should refer to them as "1st year", "2nd year" etc., or referring to serial numbers "928-8 car" or "928-9 car".

Just stick to the Model-Year and there is no problem, except that the 1978 MY was a crazy one with a lot of evolutions.

I agree and I believe there is merit in First Generation car valuation based on the VIN #- the earlier the better/more valuable.

And I agree about the '78 differences. When I replaced the carpet in mine, I learned (the hard way) that there were 3 different "cuts" for carpet that year.
