This '77 '78 '79 thing is a little confusing at times, since it seems a few countries title vehicles based on the year it was registered, not the model year.
We should refer to them as "1st year", "2nd year" etc., or referring to serial numbers "928-8 car" or "928-9 car".

And I agree about the '78 differences. When I replaced the carpet in mine, I learned (the hard way) that there were 3 different "cuts" for carpet that year.
