Just stick to the Model-Year and there is no problem, except that the 1978 MY was a crazy one with a lot of evolutions.

I agree and I believe there is merit in First Generation car valuation based on the VIN #- the earlier the better/more valuable.

I agree, but then you'll be talking about a '78 and someone pipes in with a "Well, on my '77..." comment.

And I agree about the '78 differences. When I replaced the carpet in mine, I learned (the hard way) that there were 3 different "cuts" for carpet that year.
