Greetings fellow 928 fans I recently bought a 78 928 automatic that had been sitting about 5 years and am running through the usual fluid changes. I've been looking for a DIY/walk through write up on doing a pan drop & filter change. I found a few walk throughs of the later versions however nothing so far on the OB. Also I did some thread searching on here and haven't found what I am looking for so I figure I'd ping some fellow 1st gen owners and see if they knew of any good write ups?
Naturally the trans leaks and I've seen a lot of tips about o-rings and cracked rubber hoses creating issues but again I have yet to find anything specific to the 1st gen MB3 so I am hoping to get some good resources of info on tackling this.
Thanks in advance fellas!

Pretty straight forward process. Loosen the banjo bolt that secures the fill pipe from the fluid reservoir to the pan and allow fluid to drain. Loosen the nut on the tube so you can rotate the tube clear of the pan. Turn the engine via the crank shaft bolt until the drain plug on the torque converter is visible, then remove the plug and drain the converter. If the car hasn't been apart before the drain plug should be visible when the crank is rotated to TDC. Once the fluid has drained, remove the bolts holding the pan to the trans. Undo the screws holding the filter to the trans and remove. Install the new filter with a little ATF on the seal and secure (3 ft/lbs on the screws). Install the pan with new seal and tighten the bolts to 5 ft/lbs. Install the drain plug on the torque converter using a new sealing washer and tighten to 10 ft/lbs. Install a new o-ring on the fill pipe at the fluid reservoir and install the banjo bolt that secures the pipe to the fluid pan using new sealing washers. Tighten the banjo bolt to 18 ft/lbs and hand tighten the tube nut. Fill at least four quarts of fluid into the transmission. Start the car and immediately add the remaining fluid. Cycle the gear selector through all the gears and back to Park. The fluid level should be at the top of the bottom cutout of the fluid tank shield when the fluid is cold (68 to 80F) and at the top of the upper cutout when the fluid if fully warmed (176F.) Car needs to be level when checking fluid level.
