I am currently looking to purchase a 928 S2 1984 auto, it has approx 77,000 miles and 2 previous owners. I would be very grateful for any advice as to what to look for, or questions to ask seller.

928.org.uk has a decent write up on what to look for when out in the field. the actual service history should not be underestimated as a document of importance - where there are gaps the car will have been neglected and jobs passed over for the new owner i.e. you! one of the best things to do is look at as many cars as possible to gain a better idea of what you are dealing with. where are you anyway? we have heaps of the S2 over here in blighty!

Wouldn't a 1984 be 928S1 - the S2 is the 1985-1986 32-valve, I thought.
