A four door?!? What kind of crap is that?
The only hope is that this will cause the value of the true original to skyrocket. Either that, or they will offer a coupe for something reasonable (less than the $450k the CGT goes for)

You can read a summary of it at http://www.auto-motor-sport.de/d/57733
Click on the link under "Foto-Show" to see the pictures.
I can't help it - I'd prefer a 989...
The article says they are planning to make 20,000 of these cars at a starting price of 220.000 Euros ($275,000). That price sounds a wee too high for such a high production volume...
The rear doors open towards the back - like in the Saturn coupe, some trucks and the new Rolls Royce. Downside is that such doors can only be opened, if the front door is open as well. If you ask me, I think that's stupid - but what do I know...
The body will be steel combined with lightweight materials. Lenth around 4.90 meters. Trunk space 450 liters - a little more than twice as much as the 928. Front engine rear wheel drive, later also four wheel drive. Transmissions would be 6-Speed auto or manual.

Reserve judgement till you drive it. For me that will probably be 15 years from now before I can aford a used model.
Anyways, if it's as slick to drive as the 928, and plasters the big grin, I'm all for it. If not, well, I'll keep my 83.

No, I think it's a totally different style, and i'm not crazy about it. Personally, I don't like the pseudo-Carrera GT front, or the rear doors that open the other way. The rear is probably the most interesting, and I'm happy to see a hatchback. Hey, now I realize - this is just like my Saab: 5 doors, nice trunk, decently strong engine,... Well, not quite.

Viribus: Don't mix up the pictures of the future 4-door and the 989 on this website. The 989 had regular doors, the future 4-door coupe has suicide doors. They are two totally different cars - the 989 was conceived around 1989, the other one is just a concept at this time - no more.

It looks like those prototype 928 4 door with todays design style.
I think cool! That car blows away anybody at work if I could afford it.
The back bumper is simular to the 928 along with the tailights.

Prototype kind of looks like it.
I think the back seats look cool. Buck Rogers looking crap!
I wonder if they're real or just cut and paste computer renderings.
But its missing that back Amityville window in the back the 928 has.

Let me say this again in a different way: In the image gallery on the German site, only the first two images show the Porsche 4-door concept - the other three show the 989, which never made it into production.
The rear seats shown are from the 989, and are plastilin llike the whole 989 shown on these pictures. No complete 989 was ever built!

Here ya go UFO
I looked at his device at SEMA but unfortunately we have WELDED door hinges, unlike the import crowd that bolt on. This was a REALLY cool set up. With the flip of a lever you could revert your door back to a normal swing type.
Of course with some fabrication, anything is possible!
