Default Reseating oil cooler hose fittings

Hi folks-in doing my top end refresh, I wanted to replace the oil cooler hoses while everything was empty. The upper fitting that seats in the block came loose; I was able to get the fitting separated from the hose with a "euro" wrench,
but the fitting itself spun maybe a quarter turn max in the block. What is the best way to reseat this in the block? I recall someone saying the factory used loctite originally, so I want to do it properly. (a torque spec would be killer too!) Thanks!

Last I heard when the block fitting spins, you will need to remove, clean the threads and apply JB weld to the fitting itself before reinstalling into the block. When the fitting turns, it typically breaks the last thread on the block and compromises the green loctite.

I just did oil cooler lines and experienced the same issue. However, I took the risk and retightened the block side, then installed the oil cooler line. My car is not leaking at the block fitting. Not sure if I got lucky.

That being said, you can try tightening it back up, get the lines back on and start the car. If it leaks after the oil warms up you will need to do the JB weld fix.

Good luck.
