Not sure I understand your question but the ac relay on the 1990 S4 is located within the board of the control unit. It is a tiny piece of kit and infamous for failing. It is generally considered to be not up to the job capacity wise and thus why it often fails. The relays can be purchased and soldered back into the board but most reckon the best approach is to fit a chunkier relay external to the board.

I f you look up/Google "Dwyane's 928 garage" there is one of his excellent pictorials of how to do this.

Hi, I am very familiar with the control unit and the relay board. Apparently this part number does not show up any where on the fuse box/Relay. My head unit is new and so does temp sensor and related blower relay 253 Fuse 20. Still sporadic kicked on when turned on the Ac head unit. I looked up Porsche and they said AC relay 944.615.133.03 is for 928S4 and other years. I just want to know where I can located it. Maybe this relay is the culprit. Thanks

I think you have been given incorrect info. Check out this link: 87-88 Fuse/Relay Chart (928gt.com)

What you appear to be saying is that for whatever reason the ac system is randomly dropping out. As I am aware the only relay involved in the ac system actuation is the one in the control unit and if that is new and working correctly the only other elements involved in the process are the freeze switch, the low pressure switch and the clutch solenoid plus the wiring that connects them. It is easy enough to jumper the two switches to take them out of the loop for test purposes. It is also easy to temporarily lock the clutch solenoid via a fused power supply from the hot post- again for temporary test purposes only.

The part number you quote does not appear to show up in searches but given there is no other relay that can cause the system to drop out it is somewhat irrelevent or so I would think..

Twainluan did not exactly say what his 'intermittent' issue is.
He just said he's having 'intermittent' AC issues. So in the interest of helping him, my 'intermittent'
issue last summer was that whenever I put my fan on high speed to cooldown the hot car interior
it would stop working for about 30 minutes (no fan and no AC, AC completely shut down).
I was 5K away from home on vacay at the time.
So I only used a lower speed until I diagnosed a soon to explode (so hot) AC Relay X.
I changed it and no more problems.

It is in the passenger footwell, under the carpet mat. There is a wooden cover door that you will need to lift up to see your fuses and relays.

That part number isn’t correct though, to my knowledge. On your 1990 the fresh air blower is XII. You can see your fuse and relay panel along with the correct part numbers at this link:

You said you “looked up Porsche” and they gave you that part number, share the link or go back to the source and confirm the part number as it’s bogus. Roger told you it’s somewhere else but wouldn’t tell you where?
I assume you’re genuine but your sounding like a troll TBH.

Here is the part , bought from Porsche dealer. Looked it up for AC relay, Pelican parts list as AC relay for 89-91S4

New relay ,made in China. AC relay on Pelican part also says 89-91 S4

Where to install this relay, not on the relay footwell board

Here is Pelican part list for AC relay too. 90s4
