Default Grille repair

Noticed since the day I bought my shark, that the grill/front spoiler was loose. So, I took it off and realized the vertical brackets weren't broken, but the bottom grill slat was broken, as well as the mounting clip that holds the vertical bracket was gone. After taking the grill out, I noticed there was a lot of debris at the base of the radiator(leaves, keno ticket, straw, etc.....plus the metal clip with the screw attached!) No idea how long that'd been there, but noting on an invoice (2010) from the PO about fixing the loose grill, I think a while.

Bottom slat broken, where a small round nub is that allows a screw to attach it to the vertical. PO used extra long screws to hold it together.

Middle attachment. The brackets open end inserts into the metal clip....that's missing.

After finding the clips, I noticed the one on the right was glued in place, so I did the same with the center and left side(used JB weld).

Right side clip was glued in place, so I did the same with the others.

I noticed the chin spoiler plastic where it screws into the bottom of the vertical brackets was deformed/cracked(it's old), so I made metal reinforcement which I glued in.

Reinforced. Plus, you can see the M6 screw that goes thru the bracket & metal clips. I think I read there are rubber caps that go over the opening?

Much better fit and a lot more solid feel

I went to Lowe's and grabbed new stainless screws.

Nice repair. I made a custom one with metal support brackets and gutter guard that keeps everything out and actually helps support the front spoiler too. Removes with 5 screws for access to things behind it.

I like that idea, especially with all the debris I had to blow and vacuum out including a bunch of stones. I'd think one could affix something like that to the vertical supports. Using three strips of screen(gutter covers may be close in size). So, the look wouldn't change, but you'd have the screen. Thanks for the idea
