Similar thing happened to my 928 not long ago- knew immediately what the problem was and fixed it. No problem with the idle whatsoever thus why I doubt that is your issue.

Whenever I hear of a problem with either hot idle or cold starts I immediately suspect the temp2 sensor. Suggest you check the resistance values to earth at the computer plugs with a warm engine for both the LH and the EZK channels- you should read 100 to 200 ohms- no more.

Also check out the O2 sensor.

Easy to test for leaks - disconnect at the back of the manifold and connect to a Mityvac tester it should hold a fullish vacuum.
OK, new flappy valve from Roger and gearbox vacuum module fitted - and all is fixed!
