I followed the instructions and removed the eight small bolts (4 each side shown in the first photo below) referenced in this post http://forums.pelicanparts.com/6261411-post28.html
The sunroof is loose, but does not yet come out. I noticed there are several nuts long the back side (see second photo below). These nuts are not referenced in the Pelican thread. Do these have to be removed to pop out the sunroof? I don't want to remove any more nuts or bolts than necessary. Thanks.
you have removed 4 on each side,
I would suggest that you put the 2 bolts back into the rear transition blocks and remove the pin screws,
NOTE these are gold colored flat blade screws,
open the roof a few inches slide the panel back about 1/2 an inch,
and you can push the blocks free of the cable pins.
they will come out of the small slots on the bottom of the blocks.
NOTE or you can remove the blocks just as you have it, they will fall onto the seats once the roof is lifted up.
Next you need to open the roof about 3 inches, then lift the front edge up and pull the roof free.
Dont touch the 4 along the back as that is a drip tray. it directs water to the rear roof drains.
NOTE you may have to move the roof forward after getting the rear blocks free,
but there is also a front clip that will hold the roof from coming free,
so the the front edge of the roof must be held up as you remove it.
The screws noted in red, attach the roof to the transition block. They also are adjustments for opening/closing of the rear. The one in blue, leave alone. The drip tray screws noted, don't need to come out to remove it. What screws you removed should allow you to lift the roof out. It's heavy and perhaps from it being screwed in for 30+ years, it's a little stuck. I does need to be opened and inch or two and tilted to remove(lifting the front up first).
OPTION
one
if the blue screw is removed the pins will come free of the transition blocks, and the transition block will stay on the roof if the red screws are installed.
2
OR remove the red screws the blocks will fall off then the rear of the roof will come free its just a bit harder to fit the blocks .
NOTE the roof panel must be moved back about an inch to clear the front tab, then lift the front edge
