Default OB 928 windshield replacement help

Hi.

I am restoring my 1979 928 and it is currently at the paintshop for a respray.
I have taken all the glasses out and the hatchglass and windscreen was held in place with bitumen strips from factory.
Should I use this method again or is it better to use modern glue method?

Advise please.

Use modern urethane on both back glass and windshield. Follow directions and use windshield primer. 3M or Sika. Just be sure to build to a sufficient height and allow to set a little prior to install.

Ok thanks! I am bit worried I wont lay a correct size bead but maybe its not that hard, whats your experience?
Maybe let a pro do it instead. The bitumen method seems easier but maybe not as good?

I use a nice 3/8 bead for the front and little less in the rear. A professional may provide a cleaner result. I actually use a pro lately. Cheaper than bribing a friend to help
