Default Field of 928s

Hey All,

Not a 928 owner, but happened to see this article and found it interesting.

Have to wonder if the owner thinks if they hold onto them longer they'll be worth more...the answer is for sure, except for those ones...they may be worth more later...but in that condition....they sure won't be retiring on what they'll get for them. With the few that were made during the run to let these cars down is a real shame. I call the yellow one!!!!

I was wondering what happened to Mr. Watson's cars. He has a whole bunch of 928s and all of the sudden I didn't see them anymore in front of his house.

I guess this is where some of them wound up.

Odd though because they all ran and drove...

the more you find old abandoned junk 928's in a field, the more your car is worth. Simple fact of supply and demand. Total produced over 17 year period, about 62,000. About 1/3 made it here. There is a reason you don't see many on the road. Parts cars is what they are now, by the looks of them.

You can actually find it on Google Maps: 34.3535229,-118.8727514

If you use Google Earth, you can see that the first cars were dropped off in December of 2017 and the collection is growing! Last photos on Google Earth from February 2021 show only 9 cars but there are 13 now in the article photos. Someone is collecting and amassing these. The yellow OB looks nice. How sad though.

Looks an awful lot like my house. But, I'm fixing mine. Really.

I just pulled up the coordinates; but I got a very large black square covering the ground.

This is what I got when I punched in the coordinates into Google Earth Pro on Oct 5, 2021

Works for me. Try another browser (Google chrome) or apple maps.

Curious if the owner is willing to let go of one engine. Couldn't hurt to have one on a stand to tear down and rebuild for a backup.

According to the article, they are not interested in selling. I am surprised though, that local LA people don't know of somebody with 13 928s. If anything, GB should
know whose this collection.

I guess I'm the only one scratching their head wondering what the big deal is. It's a group of abandoned / salvage 928 chassis. 928 International has had far more cars stacked up at times compared to this.
A local shop in Green Bay at one time had more 928 shells lined up behind the shop than this (currently down to 3).

If this was 9 vintage V12 Ferraris I could understand all the hub-bub.

The owner lives a few miles from me and he moved all of his 928s. He used to have a few in his drive, but now I don't see a single one, it was usually 5.
