Default Odometer not working

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your advice. I bought a car off The Market an online bidding platform...Its great but the odometer doesn't work and no it wasn't mentioned. Can anyone give advice to try and fix it without taking it to an expensive garage? The speedometer works fine. Also the housing the the light has come loose! Cheers T

I'll guess that the gear that almost always gets old & falls apart has...

Gotten old and fallen apart.

There's a really nice write up in the "Dwayne's Garage" page. It's linked in the "New Visitor" sticky thread.

Nothing terribly difficult, the hardest part for me is getting back out from under the dash.

Here's mine from my 1979- kudos to member Wayne Strutt for guidance on removing the instrument pod. You may as well check all your dash bulbs while you are it

Are the parts available or do you have to replace the whole thing
