Central locking system
Car is a 1986.5
During the time that I was fixing all the door and courtesy lightning, I accidentally disengaged the central locking mechanism on the driver's side door. I had the oil changed locally 3 weeks ago and after that, the red door on the door spine was gone, so I went on to fix it. They messed with the door card, but not a whole lot, just enough to cut a cable.
To make a long story short; after I fixed the light, I reconnected the central door mechanism to the door lock as I was already there. Now, after the fix, I have to "help" the door **** to be able to open the door, or from the outside, I have to insert the key and twist it as I pull for it to open.
Is there an adjustment inside I can make to loosen up the lock so I don't have to help it from the inside and outside?

yes loosen the door card lock **** surround collar tighten it with the palm of your hand to just snug.
Then loosen the door **** screw put some fresh blue loctite on the screw first.
NOTE tightening either one of these parts too much can cause the lock linkage to bind.
NOTE there is an updated inner door latch this is made so the door wont lock when the open handle is pulled from the inside.
NOTE there is also an updated outer door catch that bolts to the outside of the door into the new inner latch mechanism .

Thank you for the insight. I loosened the plate, and nothing. I took the entire panel off today. I noticed that the lock cylinder had a fair amount of play. I tightened (to what seemed normal to me) the Allen bolt on the spine of the door and the key will not move at all. I had to take back to near the original play to be able to turn the key. It is very hard to either key or twist the lock the locked position and just as difficult to get it back. If I twist the key to where the lock goes down 60-70%, It will lock, but if I go 100% to the locked position, I literally have to fight the key to try to bring it back to unlocked. Any other ideas, solutions?
