Default Need catalytic converter guidance (right away!)

I just bought an '85 Euro - had it shipped to VA. from Michigan.

Took it for an inspection today... it needs a catalytic converter - it's been removed.
I want to get one in it and have it pass inspection before Frenzy, this Friday.

Anyone have a recommendation? Something I can get my hands on ASAP and have put in right away with no screwing around?

I have heard on here that you can have an aftermarket unit welded in, even in CA, but that they will only last a few years, depending on how much you drive. Stock units are better, but $$$$. In CA I think it is illegal to sell them used, which seem crazy to me.

Thanks, K! I hadn't even thought about longevity. Not being able to sell used ones is crazy - something else I hadn't considered.
I did a simple search on Amazon and found units that are supposed to fit, but the intakes and outlets had obvious and vastly different spacings. Before I order one for NOW delivery, I was hoping someone had done this and had advice.

...Double replies are the result of using your 25 year old garage laptop.

So does 928 Specialists: P/N: 928.113.219.01.OEM

You can have an approved one welded in, in CA, and it will last a lot more than a few years. They contain the proper precious metals and a lot more of then than the 49-state legal ones.

They dont allow selling used ones, as it promotes even _more_ stealing good ones...plus there's no way to know if a used one is good or not.

This is known good. I had it built using a new aftermarket cat and new special order magnaflow. Probably has 5 or 6000 miles on it. Pretty quiet.

$600. Drive here, we can install tonight or tomorrow night.

You probably dont have air pump though, do you?
I mean we can do that install, too, but more involved.

I have an air pump on it, but not plumbed in, apparently. I installed a new belt yesterday that doesn't run the pump. Nothing's running there, regardless.

Unless I can find something up here in the morning, I'll take you up on your offer. I can probably be down there soon after 5 tomorrow. I'll PM you!

Oddly, it may be the most efficient way for me to bring my '85, so I'm willing!

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-to-duals.html

Actually cat is Eastern 40345 not 40435.

So you can see the specs, in case you go this route.
I finished the work . Drove it lightly. But ended up with a slew of 928s including 84 Euro, and so this car sat.
