Default Bent phone dial wheel, what to do?

My 1980 US 5 speed is original except for the paint. But I noticed visually that one of the wheels is bent. I can tell with my eye that the outer lip is out of round in a spot and that the paint is sort of bunched up above that area.

So is there any point in having the wheel repaired by straightening or should I be shopping for a good replacement? They are the original 16 inch phone dials.

Very easy to find a wheel straightening business. They can tell you if it is terminal or repairable.
However it may cost more to straighten than it is worth. My trusted wheel repair shop charges $220 to straighten and refinish.
Call 928 Intrrnational and get a price on a used wheel.

check out Sports Car tire in Delaware,
they straighten and refinish, top notch workmanship,
I have had 6 sets of Porsche rims refinished from them every one was perfect.
ask for Les

Of course, if you refinish one wheel, the other 3 will not likely match, especially if they are 40 years old.
So, you will probably end up refinishing a set....

I know I have some wheels off of a 1980 (more likely to match your other three, if 928 International does not.

Greg's correct (of course): Phone dials are common and cheap. You can't swing a dead cat on FB marketplace or CL without hitting a couple sets.

I had to make the same decision on my Cup 1s. Chased vibrations for a long time until I found the source: bent rims.

I think there must be a reason why the Porsche WSM states, that straightening of rims is not allowed. I was tempted to get them refurbished by a qualified local shop too....
After thinking about it, I opted for new rims. Why? I don't want to drive my car on the Autobahn at speed above 140 MPH and trust that the structure of the rim wasn't weakened. I wouldn't trust my life to
a technician on this regardless of experience level. Just my 50 cents on the topic.

As said before get a new rim from Mark.

I turned my bent rims into wall clocks. They make an excellent eye catcher and excellent gifts for friends that drive Porsches too .
