Fresh Owner
Hi all! Its been my dream to own a 928 as long as I can remember and I finally bought one! Its a low miles 85 S in mostly incredible shape inside and out except for what seems to be some usual suspects:
Cracks in the dash
A small spot of rust on one of the rear quarter panels towards the top near the spoiler
Paint on the fiberglass front and rear bumper covers is a little dull compared to the metal body panels. I had also considered removing the spoilers as I like the clean look of the earlier models, but I'm no longer sold on that as I love this car!
Its also going to one of our local euro car repair places to look into non functional windshield wipers, fog lights, and instrument panels lights, which the previous owner already had an appointment for but I chose to buy it anyway at a discount.
Are there standard fixes for these cosmetic issues? Great to be a part of the family!

Congratulations drjj!
And Welcome!
Let us know whereabouts you are located so we can better guide you to good shops and enthusiastic locals.
The front and rear bumper covers are not fiberglass (unless they are aftermarket). I'll let someone else chime in on what they are actually made of.
There is often rust lurking under the rear S spoiler. Certainly address what you can see, but be prepared for a big job if you take that rear S spoiler off.
Dash lights have several aspects. There are three wedge shaped clear plastic panels along the bottom of the gauge cluster with a (faded over time) reflective coating which shine light upon the gauges themselves. Then, for showing warnings and information, there are several bulbs (at least two different sizes I believe) which illuminate these from behind the gauge panel. Some writeups exist on how to do LED replacements for the latter.
And since you have been a member here for a while, you already know that...
