Default Sourcing CA compliant Catalytic converter for 1980 n928

NOTE THIS IS FOR A 1980 928 (just a regular 928) - THE "n" IS A TYPO AND I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO EDIT THE SUBJECT LINE

OK, I received one alternative recommendation but I'm still looking for a "bolt-on" solution.

Anybody know where I can source a catalytic converter with y-pipe for a 1980 928?
It MUST meet CA requirements.
What I'm showing below would be perfect - except they don't have them in stock and their source has put a hold on them due to a redesign for fitment issues.
Any help is appreciated.
Also, does anybody know how I can get in contact with "USA Catalytic Converters"? They are apparently the company that makes the cat. There's a good chance they can tell me where to source one if I can contact them. a google search didn't help me.

A good shop will flange an otherwise CA legal 'weld in' to bolt in.

The aftermarket converters are designed to last through one smog inspection, two if you get really lucky.
Bite the bullet and buy a factory converter new, from Porsche.

Better performance (less restrictive) and will last another 40 years, unless you are dumping too much fuel through it.

BTW, your 1980 should not have had an air pump, so it is a unique one year only converter.

Yes, that's true, I'm looking for a bolt-on if possible. Thanks

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I have a recommendation already for the magnaflow (cut and weld) that should last for as long as I keep the car. (But like I said, I'm looking to source a bolt-on solution (which doesn't look like I'm going to find). I was not aware that other aftermarket cats would wear out so quickly. Have you had a bad experience with them?

I'm waiting to hear back from 928motorsport, they reference a high-performance long-lasting cat for my year, but no picture or price listed. OEMs from Porsche are $1800 - ouch - thus I'm trying to source an acceptable more affordable solution.

I do appreciate your feedback though.

Understand, completely.

If you are going to only keep a 928 for a short period of time (one smog inspection), weld in an aftermarket cat.
If it's a keeper, the only viable option is the factory cat.

Odds are high they will look for a carb number. Get the CA one. Not the Motorsports one. Unlikely to arrive with documentation.
