Default 1988 S4 brake master cylinder disassemble

I have a 1988 S4. I purchased a brake master cylinder rebuild kit from Pelican. I’ve removed the c-clip but can’t seem to get the piston assemblies out. Does anyone know how to remove the large spacer out?

There is no bolt on the side of the MC and the c-clip has been removed.

I’ve plugged all the holes except one and used compressed air….won’t budge. I’ve put the shaft end sticking out of the MC with soft jaws in a vice and tried pulling it out. I socked the spacer with penetrating oil. The thing won’t come apart. I found on a previous RL post a photo of the MC disassembled.

Hydraulic hand pump, what would you do about the holes where the reservoir goes into?

In the front hole in the master, where the reservoir inserts is a washer with a rectangular hole.
Remove.
Under the washer is a pin sticking up.
Compress the master and that pin will pull right out.
This will release the front piston and help with disassembly.
