Install photos. A keen eye will see a stud with a nut on it. That is my setup for making the locking levers easier to latch with a simple turn. It took less time to install the plate and boot than removal.

Here is the finished look. Shifting is so much smoother with that classy leather sound as the linkage locks into the next gear. Reminds me of my w211 E class..
