Default Replacement Billet FPR on a MY 85

Anyone try this yet? The adapter for the front rubber fuel line doesn't seem like it can get tight enough to seal, because of the lager nut that holds the FPR onto the bracket. I have the large nut as tight as I can get.
The blue tape is on there so I won't scratch up the new FPR when i'm counter holding it to tighten the large nut.

More help needed! Thanks

John Guzman did it here on an 86.5 without issues. Having said that...

Remove the washer. That gets you a couple of MM of thread. Perhaps that's all you need.

Or remove the FPR and bracket and tighten in a vice with soft jaws. Tighten the big nut with some serious torque.

I haved thinner nuts here I sources at McMaster-Carr I can send if you need one.

Thanks Kevin. I'll remove the washer first and see what that does. That may be enough. I'll let you know about the thinner nut. Beautiful product BTW!!

Update on this.

I did remove the washer between the large nut and bracket. It seemed to give enough space to allow the adapter nut to tighten up quite well. But, I won't know for sure until I pressurize the fuel system and start it up this Saturday.

Kevin, can you e-mail me direct at rsobek@delreywindows.com I still would like a shorter nut just in case. You can either send me one or give me the specs and I'll source it myself. Can't PM me Kevin. I'm not a paid user.

Thanks all!
Rick
