Default Pic request for 85 - 86 engine bay.

I have a chance to powder coat my intake and valve covers. Can you please post pics of yours for ideas.

Thanks!

Powdercoated intake and replated hardware. If you powder coat spend 10x the time you think is reasonable to clean out every last bit of media in the side tanks as there are lots of nooks and crannies where it can hide out as a few here have been sad to discover.

The metal is treated for oxidation but they still require polishing to keep them the way they look below, just FYI. The intake is magnesium so without the coating they turn black basically...

Here is an 86.5 I did last year, filler primer, feather bronze than a satin clear (all powder) Cam covers were nasty and were re-worked with Lab-metal, not perfect but once on the car they look good.

It isn't on my short list, but what does it cost to get these intakes powder coated?

The 86.5 I just did cost me 1100 cdn. With a three step process of filler primer, colour and clear. That included the cross brace.

FYI, your air filter is upside down.

I remember how affordable it was. This was back in around 06 or 07 though. Mine was a two stage - silver, then blue overlaid on top. As you can see in the pictures, it really popped!
