I did indeed find true good fortune to score a NOS original greyish-green dash for my car and at the moment it is locked inside a secret garage with mean vicious animals in there. Nobody better lay a finger on my grey-green dash. When I find my eletrical gremlin and kill it for good I will install the dash.

And yes, last time I checked, Susan (Mrs. Claus) knows where there are a couple more originals.

Thank you for everyone's congrats - I'm soooo excited to pick up the car. I can't believe we were able to get it with all the interest there was in it. I guess it was just meant to be

Ron - I'd love to see pics of your interior.

Beth:

The dash is not in yet. I have an electrical gremlin that I haven't yet found. When it is found, and killed, the dash will be installed and the pod will be re-dyed. You would not like to see the dash that is in there now...it is repulsively mis-matched and not the correct color. It also belongs to Susan as part of the deal for the NOS dash in my garage. When it is finished I can post photos.

Enjoy your trip. Watch for Smokey. No need to feed the hungry bears.
If you get to Nevada, watch for Smokey around Winnamucca; one followed me for about twenty minutes. After that, the true nature of the 928 can be realized, until about 15 minutes outside of Reno, when you should cool it. Thinking about your trip is getting me pumped up, but we all must stay here and work while Ahnald shakes things up.

Ok, Ron, do even the seats look bad? What about a pic of those?

I have four seats, as well as another greyish-green interior out of another identical year/color 928 which went racing. The other seats are in plastic bags and I can photograph those and mine. My driver's seat has one small crack in the bolster and some stiching is worn, but I prefer it for daily driving, plus it is also heated. The rest of my interior is fine except for the dash. Maybe I'll shoot some photos of it and post them. The color doesn't come out as greenish in the photos and even I was shocked when I first saw the car. I thought it was a grey interior. But I grew to like it and wouldn't change it now. Maybe this weekend I'll shoot some photos. Plus I recently re-stiched the wheel.

Thanks Ron. In the pictures of the one we bought they look more of a grey and I want to show BF what the color is, he's never seen the grey green, and I cant find pics anywhere.

Default greyish-green

As I suspected, they don't really portray color fidelity, but here are some shots:

In the last photo of the wheel, the color of the seat below the wheel seems to be most accurate. The color of the pod is NOT going to remain and matches nothing in the rest of the interior; it will be re-dyed when I install the new dash. You can also see my remote display for the V-1 just in front of the tachometer with the little warning light for the Lidatek to the right.

Sometimes, I think the color appears to be brownish and other times it appears to be greyish, but it truly is greenish. And no, I don't drink or smoke wacky tabacky.

Ron, when I saw your car over at Reitmeir's the dash didn't look like such a bad mismatch. Maybe it was the lighting plus glare off the windows(overcast day). Do you have a pic that shows the mismatch?

I just deleted them and emptied my recycle bin. More than the color, the edges are not sharp like the original and bulge all over the place. The color can be remedied, but the process used to re-cover the dash is not acceptable. It is plain ugly. I'll search and maybe I can find one somewhere and post it.

Click on this and get a kleenex to dry your eyes. Or come by my office at Pavlina Plaza (El Camino & Remington) and take another gander at the eyesore.

Ron - what color is the carpeting in yours? In my 88 it's got a light green carpet. My door panels are linen as are the seats.

My carpet is off-white or "eggshell" white, but my exterior is meteormetallic
which is a greyish color. If you look closely at the photo linked above, you can spot a small portion of the carpet just below the glove box. I got almost an entire spare interior out of an identical car that became a race car, but the dash is still in that car unfortunately.

Yeah I've seen this pic before. Somehow, with the lighting or whatever, it didn't look that bad when I peeked in your passenger window.
