Beth,
Lucky you(s).
Good choice. I do love that intake/engine compartment.
Another good choice was the interior. I will argue to my last breath that we can spend more on an interior refurbishing than replacing the engine, or suspension/tires, or, a complete, high-end paint job.
Hope your electrics and tire balance/alignment is good as well.
There was a minor mistatment on an earlier reply...you already were a two sHARk family! How long have you owned Porsche's Best, now. Seems like it wasn't that long ago that you first posted and not long after that you were DIVING in to moderately difficult maintenance jobs. I mention this because as of late -last three months- some folks who had offered some sound (almost BTDT) maint. advice over the last year or so would suddenly ask a question so basic it made you wonder if they owned a screwdriver. And more to the point , 4 or 5 guy's are bailing out of the 928 world for financial/personal reasons. Spain still has a Inquisition Section in one of the more obscure Catholic Orders and I'm sure they can be convinced to cure this Heresy...
Hey, since you are driving cross-country could you stop of around Pittsburgh and pick up a case of Iron City beer for me I'll buy you dinner
.
Don't forget the Road Help list, and if you can, plot your route /timing thru the sHARk Zones. Most folks might be able to cruise to a pre-planned B-fast, Lunch -dinner if you stop for the night - spot. In essense you might have a bunch of mini-frenzy's on the way home. The paint is unique, and a lot of us wonder about the condition of Eastern seaboard 928's due to potholes, ocean/road salts. Of course with the constant migration of sHARKs with sales no tellin' where it landed in the U.S. . I just bought my son Zack a white, 81'MY, Auto, no spoilers from a GREAT PO in Wyoming and drove it home, approx. 1200 miles in 21 hours on the 18/19th of this month. It was an ex-patriate Tex-ican anyhow.
Wishing you a good trip in any case.
Remember, don't try to haul tools, ohm-meters, wiring on the plane ...they have all kinds of rubber gloves for "suspicious looking people"...
Buy what you need on the road.

Hi Beth,
Great COLOR!
I believe it's Lagoongrun metallic from the posted pictures.
Sorta like the first 3 pictures here:
http://homepage.mac.com/ew928/SITM20...toAlbum41.html
That's an 88 S4 5speed. It's my beast on it's way to SITM romping grounds.
It was on the way that's why it was sunny.

congratulations for your bid.
I wonder that 928 is a 5l 32v 288hp?
Here in France, that 928 are usually called 928 S3 and we don't know that much about it, because it has never been imported. So, seeing your photos, I wonder what model exactly it is?

Beth: Did you know it has LSD? I was trading emails with him. I had questioned the "all available options" and if it was LSD he should put that in the description. He said it is but didn't send the jpeg of option sticker. I also commented to him about the lack of molding on doors and that some of us like that, which is actually an option that his car is w/o. I wondered why the auction was ended early. Congrats. I wouldn't sell mine for that price.

Beth, in my search for another 928 I came across a similarly colored car in Beverly Hills that was called Frusengruen. It was the oddest color I'd ever seen, almost like a military issue 928.

The auction ended early because after numerous phone calls we agreed on a purchase price if he was to take it off ebay.
It is as Nicole said the Crystel Green with the grey green interior. Beautiful!
I didn't know it had LSD but wow, a bonus.
As for condition, he purchased the car from the original owner only 1 year ago and has only put 2k miles on the car. 12k miles ago the engine and tranny was TOTALLY rebuilt, as was everything else on the car. It has new window motors, new side view mirror motors, every light with lens has been replaced, new windshield - and so much more. I guess the original owner was a obsessive perfectionist - works for me.
I'm going to keep driving the '87 S4 and this will be mainly my boyfriends car - lucky guy, but my car is nice too.
Hey John, I'm no newbie to Porsches - only the 928. I started out 15 years ago with a 924 then after a short time sold it and got a '74 2.0 914 which I autocrossed for several years. After high school when I was going to Jr. College (oh around 1988-1990) I worked for a local Porsche shop. I did all the valve jobs on the 911's and 914's and did all the engine and transmission tear downs. Also did misc. other work. Sold the 914 about 7 years ago and have been Porsche-less untill I got the S4 about 1 1/2 years ago. Plus I've always been very mechanically inclined and good with directions - so give me a project and a manual or insturctions and I'll figure it out. I remember tearing out the kitchen sink faucet when I was about 6 and rebuilding it.
I'll post pics when I can.

Gorgeous car Beth!
I think LSD was an option that was nearly standard on '85 model 928's. Mine has it, I can't recall anyone on here saying theirs didn't. Trust me- these need it bad!
Best of luck!
Normy!

The best thing is that not only is this one beautiful - it is also extremely unlikely you'll ever seen another one like it. But that also means it would be harder to replace. Not that anybody would expect that to be necessary.
Hope you have enough garage space for both sharks...
