Default Turn signal won't return

My turn signals won't return after turning either direction. The flanges on the steering wheel are fine. It appears that the white tab on the switch is not operating correctly. It's not broken off, yet it does not release the switch properly even when I push it with a screwdriver.

Has anyone ever tried to take the switch apart and fix this? Or is it time for a new assembly?

Incidently, the high beam switch is intermittant - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Might this be related?

I've 'heard' that filing that part down is what fixes it, although I haven't tried it. My S4 does that too, except on the left turn only.

The white part on the switch doesn't appear to move properly. I don't think filing that down would fix it. Any other suggestions?

i have the same problem on my car. I'm just in the habit of flicking it back to the normal position. If i get it fixed im going to end up putting my right blinker on after i finish a left turn, and my left blinker after a right. its just a habit to just flip it back into its place.
