Dear Shark lovers,
let me introduce myself.
My name is Tomas and I am the prowd owner of my 2:nd shark, this time it was an 928S4-91 Automatic.
The car is (was) in a fantastic condition until an accident stroke me. A driver in a BWM hit me in the back and the car is now in the workshop. The rear bumper needs to be replaced + some minor body work.
Now the question: on my car the rear bumper has a big Porsche inscription between the taillights. (928 505 123 22) but the workshop informed me that they got a rear bumper model w.o. inscription proposed by the Porsche agent (928 505 123 22 G2X) instead.
Does anyone know if there has been a replacement of the spare part and most important: is this design ok for my ear model or will it lower the value of my precious ??
Below how it looked before this sad day....
Kind regards
Tomas Wiak
All comments are highly appreciated. My precious....
Tomas: Looks like a very nice S4; The two main suppliers that are popular here are 928 International,714- 632-9288 has new and used and 928sRus. 817-430-2688, I believe 928srus deals only in new parts. Both are knowledgeable regarding what is available from Porsche and other suppliers.
The original rear bumper shell has been out of production for a while now. The replacement since offered from Porsche is the fitment for the later GTS cars, and includes a red reflective insert connecting the tail lights. On an earlier car (1987 to 1991) it's a telltale that the car has been damaged and the shell replaced. Your car is not a US car, by appearance (side markers) or license plate in your picture, so I'm guessing you are not in the USA. 928 International here is a very reliable supplier of used parts, and does quite a bit of international shipping so worth a phone call. Their number in the US is 1-714-632-9288. Your other option is to shop for a used shell closer to home.
Very pretty car, by the way. I used mine for a daily driver for a couple decades, but lately I'm using it a lot less due to change in climate (no winter driving in snow here) and a growing concern for accident damage as you are experiencing. Hopefully you come out of this in good shape, both you and the car.
Not much feedback from me here, but man your car is gorgeous. What a great color. Best of luck getting it fixed, a real bummer that happened. Please share more pictures of your car, I am in love.
Kind regards to all that took the time to answer me. Such a great forum, and such a fantastic thing a shared interest for cars is.

Jirmas, that car is exceptional. Is that your garage with all those other 911s also parked in it - maybe even a white 959 in the background?
you have to high thoughts about me, lol.
I wish it was my garage but I lived in Sweden and the taxes are such that in order to have that kind of car collection, you need to sell drugs or rob banks, or maybe be a top exec in a bank. And yes, thats a 959 that you spotted there.
those cars were on display in the place where i bought the car. It is a Porsche specialist by the name "Garage11" and they specialize in real cool second hand cars, mainly from Porsche but not only.
I went there to buy a 928GTS but it was resprayed in a non original color so i passed. The I saw this beauty that now is in my posession.
Regarding the color question: No, it is not zyclamen over magenta but rather a well kept Amethyst metallic. It just looks like zyclamen (wich by the way is nicer in my opinion)
kind regards
Tomas

Reason: Missed one question.
Beautiful car there,
I have a rear S4 PU cover that will need to be stripped but should be presentable.
You pay the shipping its yours from 19027 USA.
Hi Stan,
the offer presented by you is highly appreciated, when I told my wife she was shocked (do I need to tell you that she was mocking me a couple days ago for writing posts on "a forum for petrolheads...")
I need to check the freight cost to Europe as this is a serious big piece of PU.
Again, this forum is so fantastic.
A lot of people sharing their love for their cars.
if you can post a picture of the PU you have it would help,
mine has a small part that was trimmed off around the exhaust tips,
Mine is a lil bit warped but i think that can be fixed by pouring boiling water on it ,
its has a slight wave around the letters,
and needs to be fully walnut shell blasted.
You can see a slight wave in the letters at the ORS,
hot water will reform it
.and the edge that was cut off around the muffler tip you dont see that part as the tips cover it .
