Default CENTRAL LOCKING BUTTON, AGAIN.

My 84 has no problem operating the door locks with the key from either door. They both lock and unlock from either side with the key. The problem is that sometimes turning the door **** from the interior will lock and unlock, sometimes they dont. The dash button worked at one time, and now it doesnt. All of the fuses are intact and the car has no electrical issues otherwise.
Thoughts?
Thanks.

Maybe an easy fix- Are the interior lock ***** screwed in too tight? Even a tiny bit over tight can cause them to drag enough to produce the results you are reporting.

The lock ***** arent binding at all. They lock and unlock smoothly with the key in either door or by hand. The central locking button once worked but now doesnt.

If I may I would add a quick question related to the topic. Don't want to highjack the thread so feel free to edit it out.
Is it normal that if you lock the doors while driving the car keeps going bip....bip....bip?

Dont know about "bip".
Anyway, question...
Seeing as I removed my ac, does the ac button on my central locking/warning panel have anything to do with the heater/blower circuit? I am thinking of replacing the warning panel with a panel that does not have the ac button. The issue has to be the central locking button as it no longer lights up and the doors work normally from either side with the key.
