Very tasty. I've wanted a cassisrot forever, and I should be bidding. But I have a 88 in the paint shop now that will be a cassisrot this summer, so will pass. Someone is going to get a very nice car. Cassisrot was not a stock color for 92, so that was a special request.

I didn't know it was his favorite color, but I know very well that I'd tease the hell out of him with it.
Maybe trade a ride in it for a ride in his Cobra.
But, no.
No room, too many other priorities (like building a bigger garage so that another car might be a possibility), and the very simple fact that I can't see this car going less than $75k.
If the right two bidders end up wanting it, it might make it above $100k. Not super likely, not in January, but possible.

If I ever get the damn thing back on the road, I'll gladly take you for a ride.

Rare & beautiful colors, both inside & out. There will be 'haters', but many will find it attractive.
The provenance of a top-level 928 tech, who is quickly & clearly answering any & all questions.
Excellent presentation, which is a big factor on BaT.
68k miles.
Looks to be original condition, except the intake tubes & crankcase venting system.
Constantine's Super Clamp, and the crank end play spec of .007-.008.
All that and more indicate a very nice example.
The Japan history might be a 'down price' factor, but not by a lot.
Again, January is a 'less than ideal' time to sell a performance/collector car. Especially in the 'Great White North'.
But I think the 'pluses' will outweigh the minuses and this car will see a nice number when the (figurative) hammer falls.

Wisconsin Joe, Unfortunately, I have not done the majority of the work on this car. I have adjusted the sunroof and taken care of a few small things.
I asked BaT about the timing as I was super skeptical and they stated that they do not see a drastic change in prices at any time of the year. In Feb 2020 Rob Edwards got 57k for a nice GT. And I am selling it for a fellow who is having to leave the country. If I had the room to store it I likely would have waited until at least March before listing it.
I have a 91GT with 64k miles that is getting an incredible amount of work that I will be listing with them likely in May or June. So am using this as a little bit of a learning curve. The GT is white on Classic grey with basically everything done..... a car that you can get in and do nothing but oil changes on for a long time......

But did you give it a good 'once over' to see if it needed anything?
I would hope (expect?) so.
You'd see more in a 5 minute look under the hood than I would in an hour's worth of inspection.
I can't argue with their data. And I'm not willing to do the research to find out for sure one way or the other.
It may be less of an issue with the breadth of their coverage and the quality of the car.
But, in general, 'toy' cars, boats & motorcycles sell less well around here in the winter. Spring & early summer is best.
Of course, I bought my 928 in January. In Minneapolis.

That's what I meant by "provenance". Not necessarily that you'd done all the work, but it met your standards for condition.
I'm going to guess that you would have either fixed or disclosed anything 'not in good order'.

For $35k? (current bid)
You betcha.
Even with the fees, taxes & transport, that's a hell of a deal.
However, I have 3 cars & a motorcycle.
And a one car garage.
AND, I lost my storage right after Thanksgiving. So the 928 is in the garage, the Cayenne is going to be in the driveway and the 944 is on the pad next to the garage under a tarp.
I keep looking out back, seeing the 944 sitting out, and feeling sad. But it's sitting all the way at the back of the pad and I do have room for one more car back there.

Just for you, I own a building in which I keep only 1 928 (my original 84 Euro that needs the engine pulled). If you buy the GTS, I will store your excess cars (and MC) for you if you ship them to me.
Not everybody deserves a GTS, but I think you might.

We can't have you feeling sad.
