It sure is an interesting Japanese spec car. A 92, which would have been a 93 stateside. Looks to be in good order with a very responsive seller. A little light on pics, but the seller is getting more, plus start and drive videos. I just could not live with that color however. Not my favorite, and with the interior, too much for me. If the right 2 guys are in the room at the end, though, this will do very well.

Since it's a LHD car, why would it be Japanese spec? Surely Porsche didn't try to sell LHD cars in Japan (like Jaguar tried to get away with)?

I think most premium imports in Japan are LHD. I think it had something to do with that it is a status symbol to have a LHD premium import.

In Jaguar's case it was sheer laziness. The only car they already made that complied with Japanese emissions regs were North American cars and they were LHD so the Japanese got saddled with the wrong cars. Fortunately there was some status attached, but I think that came about due to the fact that luxury European manufacturers dumped US spec cars in Japan as an easy way to meet emissions requirements rather than selling LHD models because that's what the Japanese wanted.

Despicable laziness.

I am actually the person running the auction and the car is currently at my shop. The owner is only selling as his visa ran out and he is no longer allowed to work in the country so he is returning to the UK.
I will be doing a cold start video on the car and doing a video of driving the car. I will say though that I am not a photographer.... HAHA so I hope the pics are up to spec for most.

Aha! Good luck with it Collin. As I said, with the right 2 guys in the room, this one may end up doing very well.

I thought that BaT name had some familiarity!

It is a beautiful car and a '92 Japan Spec GTS to boot - it sounds like someone could get a fantastic deal.

It's definitely one of those colors where someone wasn't afraid to order what they like.
I think it's going to take two wealthy people really wanting that color combo in order to bring it even close in value to an identical car in something like red on black or black on cork.

I love the color, it is so vivid and striking. If it was a 5 speed car, I would look to sell my S4 and bid on it.

Good luck on the auction.
