California Festival of Speed
For all who are coming out to the CFoS at the Speedway in Fontana this weekend, there will be a 928 corral hosted by SOCAL 928 on the infield...just look for the sea of sharks amongst the frogs.
All cars entering the infield must have an Infield Credential, sold for $10 each at the Credentials Building. All vehicles must stop there so all entrants can sign the waivers and get the needed arm band. The Credentials building should be at near the end of the long driveway at the race grounds, past the grandstands on the left side. There will be a parking lot there for temp parking to get your pass. You will then continue along the driveway through the tunnel. After entering the tunnel to the infield and turning right, the first lot on the left, meaning just keep driving until you see a or many 928's and park there..
The gate opens to the public at 7 am every day, but expect only race or festival participants before about 9 am. Driving starts at 8 am every day.
Saturday, may be the best day for a corral. Saturday has the Concours and Swap Meet, and they are certain that the Carrera GTs will be there and on the track that day. This will be very cool!
Lunch time tours will be available for $20/car each day. We can que our cars as a group for this. This is a tour on the California Speedway. Granted, we are not going to have the opportunity to let the cars stretch their legs, but you will be able to have a nice drive on this infamous race track...trust me, it's HUGE!
Racing is until about 5 PM each day.
