Question Pin Centered Dual Disk Clutch - where to place 8 mm

Hopefully a easy question for somebody with skillsets on pin centered dual disk clutch..

The pin centered clutch as three pins with one of them being tapered @ 8 mm diameter at the flywheel that is removed completely (30.4 in WSM) by driving it forward and out of the flywheel. The remaining 2 6mm pins are driven towards the rear of the car (towards pressure plate) and remain in place in the intermediate plate. I goofed and all three of my pins were removed and I cannot find the mark on the intermediate plate where the 8mm is to go.

My question is where does the 8mm go with respect to the two TDC firing pins on the intermediate plate? Or does it matter since it is used for a separate TDC sensor that I've never seen used and the worst that happens is the intermediate plate is not oriented property to use a TDC sensor for testing ?

Beginning with 1984 models one of the three centering pins is stepped (6 mm dia. in area of intermediate ring/pressure plate and 8 mm dia. in flywheel). Consequently the intermediate ring can only be installed in a certain position to the flywheel (see intermediate ring on page30-16a). Remove stepped centering pin (large bore in flywheel) completely. This is only possible in direction of the flywheel. Drive the other two centering pins in direction of pressure plate as described above, until they are beyond the centering bore of the flywheel (do not remove completely).

IIRC, the larger pin only fits in one of the 3 holes.
The last time I did a dual disk I used Stan's method and moved the trans w/ TT back, which allowed the entire assembly to drop out w/o removing any pins while under the car.

FWIW hammering on the pins also transfers the force to the thrust bearing and the engine web.
I never thought that was a good idea.

Furthering the question. The stepped pin (6 / 8) is supposed to be driven one way , towards front of car and remain in flywheel. I did that , the stepped pin remains in the flywheel. All pin hole diameters in intermediate plate are 6mm. The stepped 8 / 6 mm has the 8mm side in the flywheel The unstepped 6mm pins are driven from flywheel towards the rear of the car and into the intermediate plate @ clutch removal per WSM. I took the darn 6mm driven into the intermediate plate all the way out with out marking corresponding locations to reinstall them - that is the 2 6mm pins. The 8 / 6 stepped pin remains in the flywheel.

Thus my question is where to reinsert the 2 straight / unstopped pins into the intermediate plate and then located relative to the protruding pins on the starter ring used for the TDC (diagnostic not the crank sensor). These are in the green box at the top of the photos. One of the chamfers on the intermediate plate is larger in diameter - red box right side of photo. This is what guarantees proper orientation of the pins located on the starter ring.

If anybody has photos of the removed clutch with the 6mm straight centering pins from which

I can then identify the correct place to install them is appreciated

My recollection is also that it can only fit in the proper spot, but that was a whole six months ago, which is apparently beyond my capability to remember more clearly.

In the process of pulling the engine out of one 84 euro s and putting it another. Here are pictures of my clutch pack. Pins in place. Lemme know if I can assist further.
