what if....
you had to replace your 928 with another car that would make you as happy, what would you choose, no dream cars, something realistic

MK3 Supra turbo.
The closest replacement I can think of to a fun capable "just enough, but not too much of anything" GT car.
There are others I could pick, but the reliability of just grabbing one and driving it was a priority.

Good luck finding as Aston with a manual transmission. They do exist.
AMG GTs look funny and no manual transmission.
Christian, IIRC, is looking for a needs-nothing 5-speed with a supercharger. Doesn't exist. Might as well wish for a Unicorn.
I just finished doing some non-trivial (90+ hours) diagnosis and corrective surgery on one that's as close to Unicorn status as might exist: The Zyclomatrot S4 of Rennlist "legend" and it will need to come back for re-tuning in the Spring and even then the SC kit could use additional rework in order to make it as good as it could be. And it's an auto not a 5-speed.
Given that, AFAIK, there's no 'bolt-on' SC kit you can buy right now, you can't get their from here. There just aren't that many 5-speeds in "needs-nothing" condition and there aren't that many supercharged 928s. The intersection of those sets is very small, if not zero, and I doubt their owners would be willing to part with them for non-stupid money.
My '91GT with the last iteration of the D.R. Twin-Screw kit definitely has some current needs, and at 110k-miles the paint is a bit tired. But I wouldn't part with it for less than $100k. Given what else is in my fleet, none of which offer the same visceral experience, more like $150k to seek out something that does. Like perhaps one of the few V12 Vantage S 6-speeds.
On the other hand, big power is available from N.A. motor builds. But that's $50k on top of the 928's price. Really, really big power is available in Turbo form from He Who Must Not Be Named, but that's going to start with a motor R&R not some tired, leaking, 120k-mile motor.

I've been on here for years waiting for a good Venn Diagram reference. A 365 Daytona coupe would get the job done.
