Shock tilts aft ..easy enough
i used a thick bar of steel..or a screw driver to help maneuver things to line up.

if you are going to “pound it” in put the nut on first and have it sit flush at the top of the threads as to limit the damage to them. Tap a bit...then check the washer postions..adjust...tap a bit more...repeat. it eventually goes in.

Isn't there a white paint dot on shock 'eye' to show orientation, or at least there was on the original shocks? Seem to recall that dot faces to rear.

Yes it’s not just the factory marks. It’s same on the new Boge-Sachs shocks I installed a few years ago.

Dont forget that the holes in the body for the top mount are asymmetric - it will only go in one way! My first one went straight in, and when I had trouble with the second one it took me a while to work out what was going on.
