Default Replacement Oil Pump for 1980 928S

Replacing the seals on the oil pump on my 928S revealed a rather unpleasant surprise. The oil pump gear is severely nicked in one place and has burrs in other places.

According to PET I need part number 928 107 018 06, but I fear this part is no longer available.
I am located in Belgium and looking to find reputable suppliers for a good used oil pump.
Thanks for the feedback.

Is there a corresponding lump missing from the outer ring?
Have you checked your oil pickup mesh is intacked?
Don’t hear much about oil pump issues, compared to water pumps etc.

Outer ring seems to be pretty much intact.
Perhaps I should drop the oil pan...

I checked with my local Porsche dealership. I have the M28.11 engine, serial number 8200513.
According to PET, the part I need is 928 107 018 06.
Porsche says this part number is no longer available and has been superseded by 928 107 018 07. However, PET says this new part number is for serial numbers later than 8210658.

I found online photos of the part linked to the new number, and it looks very similar to my oil pump.

Hard to tell if it is exactly the same.

Do you think this part will be correct my engine?

Thanks

The "07" pump can be used in any earlier application....and are reasonably priced.
Good used oil pumps can be found, but you may have to do some searching. Make sure you can return/exchange a used pump, if it doesn't meet your standards.

My Porsche dealership now tells me the only pump they can get is 928 107 008 02. Isn't that one for the 32 valve engine?

That will work. I keep the 008 02, in stock, and use it on everything.

They are all the same dimensions, with the same oil galleys. They have "moved" the OD sealing O-ring around, depending on the vintage, but that is of no consequence.
If you don't have the three bolts with the thick washers and O-ring seals, order those pieces, also.
