Default indicators not working

Hi guys - 88s4,

tried the search but nothing quite lined up with my exact scenario...

just pulled and replaced the pod after a dash replacement.... All pod switches working, flashers/hazard button functioning fine, fuses are all good - but only a solid green light when trying to activate l/r indicators.... double checked the 3 connections to the stalk housing and they are all snug.... Any other ideas??

Thanks!!

Do other functions work like flashing your full beams?

The signals need a functioning hazard lights switch. Do they work?

From what I can see all other pod functions work- there are only the three connectors to the stalk right?

yes, one plug with rubber sleeves underneath, and two white multi pin harnesses in back.

I had the same problem after pulling my pod. Pulling the stalk connections and reseating them (without removing the pod) seemed to fix the problem.

I had a failed turn signal relay on my car, but the hazard flashers would not work either.
The turn signals would turn on solid one direction or the other, just no blinking.

Yes.
When I would turn the signal stalk to one side or the other, the indicator would come on with the lights on the selected side.

You said that your hazards worked, but did you verify that by going outside of the car to see if the lights were actually blinking? I ask because if the hazard lights don't actually blink then it's possible that when reinstalling the switches you mixed up the hazard switch and the fog light switch.

yes hazards are working outside as well and flashing appropriately - left or right stalk selected just gives me a solid green indicator - no light at all from either l or r blinker housing. I thought maybe id get a solid amber on each side but nothing at all..

must be a weird connection somewhere...

I have seen this exact behavior with a partially bad hazard switch.

I would try another hazard switch, or try to clean all the internal contacts.

Quick question. Is it doing this while the car is off with the key out or while it is running?

If it is off this is perfectly normal behavior that is a standard european feature our cars retained for when you park the car on narrow streets so people know you're there.

If the car is running and it is doing this behavior definitely do as described above to narrow down the issue.
