Mark, were you able to do your yearly dyno on your Green Bay 6.5L motor?

What did you do to the car to get it ready for racing?

Happy for you that you can get out on the track!

yes, i did it at the end of last season and it still was 375rwhp...... what i did to get it ready to race, is my yearly nut and bolt, with oil change. .... then i put back on the loud muffler and removed the intermediate muffler that i used for a track day with my son at laguna in the fall..

Its been a long time since we were at the track. all masked up, we are out there in force. what a great weekend so far with SCCA at Laguna Seca. packed paddock, and a lot of happy racers! the ole 928 performed as it always does. so reliable. practice was a little short due to the number of cars and time available, but i got a good enough feeling to know the old practice tires are shot .. so i took a chance and got some scrubs from a cup car driver and put on some 305 x 680s. Michelins.. they are 26" + but they didnt rub too much. just a little on the edges of the fenders , they were pretty good but so tall, they screwed up the rake and made the rear a little unstable in many situations. however, i mounted the slightly shorter michillins 305x650 25.5" diameter tires in the front and now it looks much better and might drive better too. i didnt have a chance to get to the scales as im trying to find a combination that works. now ,my B set are just hoosier 315x35s on all 4, so, lets see if my old rears , on the front from the runnoffs in 2018 matched with the new tall scrubs from a cup car will work tomorrow i the race. hard to say, but based on how the car is running and track conditions , it should be a good race

Fantastic field with about 10 transam or GT1 type cars, a scattering of GT2 and the ITE catch all group made up of bmws, corvettes and many others. RACE time tomorrow at 2:20pm.

if you are around, swing on by and say hello.. I ran into several of the listers there. Fung , who usually drives a T2 vet is running a mustang and oli is there in his spec vet.

The race went great as usual. Car ran fantastic. tires were a little suspect, but since all the entrants complained that the track was slower than its ever been by 2-3 seconds, the word is not out on if the scrub slicks from michillin are any good. race was good, times were bad. had a good battle with the mustangs . the race was unusually long, at 35mins (usually 25min) but the car ran perfect. engine temp was level and oil was in the 240F range. ran the engine relentlessly the entire time with no let ups. the more i race this Todd (and the gang from greenbay ) motor, the more happy ive been with their design and its reliability. 12 racing seasons now... (even though this covid season has been a bust)

The video is up:
