Default MAF test please ?

i’m suddenly having a lumpy idle on startup. Seems similar to the past when the MAF was going out. Can someone please volunteer to test mine in their 928? Just How it runs at idle should tell the story.

thanks in advance!

Where are you located? That might help, or are you planning on mailing it to someone?

I’m in central Maryland. I would mail it to whoever could test it.

Something you can check in the meantime:

Have you tried disconnecting/reconnecting the plug?

How does the MAF plug wiring look? Maybe you have an issue with some brittle/cracked wires and not the MAF itself.

You can’t beat Louis Ott, testing is only $35; send it off to him:

If you are talking about sending off by mail would you not be better off sending it to Louie for testing? A nominal fee is payable but at least you would know for sure it will be a credible test.

I would tell you to mail it to Louie as well. If, for some reason, you don't want to do that, you can send it to me. I can put it in the Stepson easily for free to see if it works. Not a complete test, but a functional one.
