I think the distance is just fine if the car is in good mechanical shape. Do bear in mind the Arizona conditions at this time of the year. It could be as much as 120F in Phoenix in June/July - this may be a test of the cooling and AC systems you haven't quite seen before. Forecasts are usually reasonably accurate for a week ahead.

Its not likely catastrophic anyway but worth considering in terms of travel timing, sunshades and car cover. Parked in the sun interior temps can become quite ferocious. Check on the road/parking conditions in Arcosanti itself - since a quick look on Google Earth suggests the parking and approach from ~I17 are (as suspected) all on dirt roads. https://earth.google.com/web/@34.342...0.59214444t,0r

Doing it =)

1. Ordered 4 x 53 relays – is there a guide on when and how to replace them?
2. Ordered a sun cover
3. Got an AAA card
4. Have a bottle of oil + what other liquids should I bring?

Thanks for the replies!

Sunglasses, hat, insulated water bottle (to drink), gallon of water in case the car needs an emergency drink.

Replace the relays before they strand you in the side of a very hot road, same as "replace them now in the comfort and convenience of your own garage." Disconnect the battery ground strap at the rear apron befoe you use metal tools to remove the old relays. Or smoke will leak out. Guidance from a friend...

^^ Also be careful not to accidentally twist the relay and break the socket. Replacements are only $10, but definitely not a job you want to do....

I read somewhere on the forum – there's a special tool for replacing relays?

Several different types of relay puller - all should work well for standard 53B relays - the ones you need it for (not always so well for the longer special relays, or the double size cans).
