Anyone ever taken out the guts of the S4 rear muffler?

Thanks Earl,
That's an option too, but I think I go for the replacing the muffler by a hollow tube and try to keep the tip and connections intact.
I'm going to try and find out how to calculate the diameter and length of the pipe, for the right sound.
I don't want it to sound too throaty though.
Testing it with the engine on and muffler off and holding tubes of different lengths and sizes behind it will give an indication of the sound I think.

Back in good cold Germany I had a friend with a 928 S - He had gutted the rear muffler and welded a Strosek "flue" pipe on it. The sound was great, but his Mom told me she can hear him coming when he enters the village from the other end. He always had a stock muffler in his garage, in case of fix it tickets or for vehicle inspections.

Do you think he left the pipes in the muffler Nicole?
The pre- S4 cars probably are noisier with the muffler off. I've heard some RMB on S4 cars, but they weren't that noisy.
Could be usefull though. My girlfriend can have the coffee ready by the time I step into the house. Don't think the neighbours would appreciate though

I have a spare S4 Oval Tip muffler and wondered about doing this myself...
So would this involve opening up the body of the muffler, and then just cutting everything you see out? I have no idea what the innards look like, is it like this?
Or is there some pipes to be added inside too to do this?
Many Thanks
