Also, I imagine that spark plugs need to be changed more often with this power level and boost, so how hard is it to get the intercooler off?

5 minutes max; it's a non-issue.

Brendan,

Just be prepared to lose a little water in the process. So no more changing
the plugs in the living room while watching the kids .

Curious as to the status of the SC upgrade for an 83 shark may be
Really getting very envious of all this good stuff going on for the 32v versions

From the looks of things, you might not have to wait too long:

Looks like those guys have been busy up there.

Phil,

You want serious power and road manners out of that 83 L-Jet?, wait for my turbo setup...

Hi Phil,
The setup for the L-Jet cars is going extremely well. It will be as nice (or even nicer) as the 32 valve cars. The intercooler design fits so well that I have decided I will not even offer a non-intercooled version of this kit. If my real job wouldn't keep getting in the way I would have this car running this weekend already. As a matter of fact, it is going so well I am in the market to buy one of these cars for myself. I can't wait to see how a little forced induction wakes up this 2 valve car. Soon as it is up and running, with all systems confirmed, we will be taking it straight to the dyno. I'm hoping to add at least 130 rwhp with the base kit. I estimate the cost of these kits to be about $800 less than the 32 valve kit but we will see on that when all is done. I should have some pictures by next weekend.

As I have heard these injectors should not be pushed much past 80 psig or you can start to have issues.

The devil is in the detials...if you can find a way to gain control of the entire fuel curve you are much better off than just having control over the limits of operation, i.e. idle and WOT.
We have run the FMS 30lb injectors past 170psi with no problems at all. We even discussed running it higher (imagine the atomization at that pressure).

We thought we would have to go through huge gyrations to get the fuel curve right but after messing with it a little we were able to come up with a recipe that works spot on with perfect fuel ratio at idle, cruising, and WOT. We still need to deal with the timing (at least we think we do) but we have that in the works. None of this is even close to an issue running my 8psi kit.

I can't speak about the function of this boost referenced regulator, however I have it and a RR FPR in aluminum from one of our favorites:
http://www.bellengineering.net/fmu2020.html. The build quality is fantastic. No doubt in my mind that it will work. Bought it "buy now" on Ebay for less than this other.

It'll be interesting to see the results. Nothing like a before and after comparison on the same car with no other modifications to show what somebody putting one on their car can realisticly expect. Will the installation be pretty much like those for your 32v kits that have been discussed and detailed here on the board by those who've done that kit now? Might be fun to pick up one of the older cars like that with one of the superchargers on it to play around in.

This is most interesting and I am anxiously awaiting a kit for my shark
Seems like the best way to turn this older lower powered car into something that can keep up with todays performance
I will be watching this list and Tims site for updates
Hopefully I can place my order soon
Phil
