Default Mystery grease on rear hub

I’ve been noticing what looks like CV joint grease on the inside of my 88 S4 rear wheel and on the hub occasionally. It’s a new problem started last summer.

I inspected the CV boot and it’s in perfect condition and the clamps are nice and tight. The grease doesn’t seem to be coming from the boot. Could it be coming from between the joint and the hub?

insight appreciated

Probably too much grease in your CV boot it’s getting pushed out it should stop
make sure all the bolts are tight and the clamps as well I had a similar issue it seems to have stopped

Thanks Stan, I'll check the torque on the bolts today.
