Ok - think I've found the no start issue

Tested the ignition switch for various stages of current and there is no power for circuit #15 which I believe is the ignition and fuel pump circuit

I had previously taken the swich apart to fix the accessory circuit (which i did) but made a rookie error of not checking the other circuits while I had the chance

Took the switch part again and discovered the circuit #15 connector was not connecting due to lose of tension in the copper connector

When properly tensioned - this copper strip connects to an internal brass ring with some small pop up tabs. Simply pushing this tabs out a fraction to create a better connection resolved the problem.

Have sealed the ignition switch casing up again with some strong glue and will put back on the car later today.

These switches are certanly fixable but I'll likely source a new one when i can parts from the US again

Learning new stuff all the time with this car

Great news.
I forgot it was you who posted the excellent description of rebuilding the ignition switch. It would be easy to fix three things and leave one thing still broken, and it sounds like you figured it out. Great job.
Good luck,
Dave

You may be the only one here who is not a rookie on the inside of the ignition switch! Most of us have the luxury of spending $160 and getting a new switch, pretty promptly. You're pretty brave to try, and ultimately succeed in repair of the switch. Good going,
Dave

Problem all fixed - the primary reason for the no start was the ignition switch as suspected

Have repaired the ignition switch - there is a separate thread I created on this which I'll update

Headlights amd warning lights were seperate issues due to loose connections

Has six weeks off the road working through these issues - so will be great to drive it again

Thanks for everyone's input

where was the loose connection associated with the warning lights that you fixed?

Loose connection to the AC button / warning light reset in the centre console - directly under the HVAC unit
