Default eRams for Porsche 928 on line

We are pleased and proud to announce we have become a dealer for
Mark Kibort's eRam electric boost units.

Two models are avaiilable here:
http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/superchargers.html

The favorite for the Porsche 928 is this one:
http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/...linesuper.html

There is a picture of them installed on a 928 on that page at the bottom.

...and yes, Mark and I have many before-and-after dyno charts to demonstrate they work.

Excellent low-budget HP!

"What kinda boost am I looking at getting on my 1980 928 with the inline supercharger and the 3.0 electric supercharger??"

somewhere around 1-2 psi...... just barely measurable.

Yes it works, but it's almost statistically insignificant increase.

The B/C ration is very low. B/C = Benefit/Cost

What is the point on getting one if there is no noticable gain?? Is there dyno sheets with this application installed?

Excellent low-budget HP!
that is quite a quote considering the only thing listed was the low-buget price of, ahem, $310-350...

I have personal opinions about product offerings of this kind, but I will suspend my disbelief until I have reviewed the dyno charts.

Can anybody see the glow from the extreme scepticism I am radiating? My dog is blinking and his eyes are watering over there...

This isn't the first time I've seen this type of application before. A couple years ago I saw an S4 with marine bilge blowers installed inside the intake tubes that were activated only at WOT. The owner of the car had tested only his 0-60 times and said he gained nearly .5 seconds (he had a timer wired in to make sure his times were accurate). The blowers were activated when a switch on the throttle plate was tripped:

I agree with the others: let's see some dyno sheets before discounting this item entirely. I should add that the bilge blowers cost about $30 apiece.

More agreement. I please to see people holding tongues and opinions before facts and evidence are presented.

I recall someone installing an eRam in an S4 and had a significant, measurable improvement on 0-60. However he found a number of other things on his car which were under-tuned such as the throttle not fully opening due to mis-adjusted throttle cable. After fixing these (see the "Free Horsepower" thread he still noticed an increase.

I would speculate that the greatest gains with an eRam type unit might be on engines with existing sub-optimal tuning. Pure speculation. A possibility. While it may be great to see a 5% gain on somebody's 19XX MY 928, or even a set of dyno sheets for different years, I think we are more interested in what the device will do for the vehicle currently sitting in our own garages.

It would be neat if we could do a "group purchase" where we all chip in and buy one unit. Install it, G-tech results. De-install it send to the next person. (..Rinse, repeat). We may not all generate dyno results, but for for those that are sincerely interested, we will be able to see for ourselves on our own vehicles how it performs. Whoever likes it the most can buy out the other's shares of the experiment.

Oh, yeah.... going into this, we would all have to promise to be respectful of the others in the experiment (people with too high of gains or too high of decreases are not liars - just have different cars with different idiosyncracies under different situations).

I am not a member yet, am I allowed to make such a long post?

Peace!

The eRam is a 700 watt, 50 amp axial-flow compressor that blasts out 3 lbs. of thrust at 750cfm!

So on the 928 we need two eRams, one for each intake hose. Even at say 4000 RPM that's minium of 75 amp draw. 928 alternators are rated at 80 -85 amps. (Lets not mention the Paris Rome alternator.)
What ever power is generated is canceled by the load draw from the alternator. Charging system won't last with this additional draw.............my two cents
