Default Project 928 book

Hey guys,

for those who are still looking for that elusive book, there is what appears to be a mint example on eBay: Project 928

No affiliation but to the winner, I still have some cases for that book

Once "hot" items are posted here, the price often becomes unreasonable for many buyers, but good for the seller...

Someone with "0" feedback is the "extreme" bidder. Hmmm... Unfortunately I have not had the greatest experience with first time bidders. Quite a few times I never heard from them again. One wrote me a note in spanish or portugese, that sounded like he cannot take the item because he does not speak English...

Paul,

That's why we never *discuss* certain things here.

Don't shoot the messenger Old & New. Never heard of anything taboo around here.

Sorry if I made you loose the auction, just trying to help those looking for the thing.

Learn the art of "sniping", it makes a big difference.

I bought that book about a month ago for $300 plus shipping... Great book, but I've got kids and it's collecting dust under our coffee table. If someone wants to make me an offer I'll cough it up...

By the way, my copy is not mint. It's in good condition, but the protective paper cover has a rip.

Sniping is only worthwhile if the bid is below a reasonable or true value of the item. I am constantly amazed that people bid the price up before the auction ends. I was going to bid on this book, but not now. $200.00+ maybe, $300.00+, no way, the Wife would have my.........

There are two copies available on Barnes&Noble.com under "used and out of print books". One in poor condition for $246.75, and one in very good condition for $370.59. I think it's only a matter of time before bootleg scanned copies on CD start to appear.

Champagne,

I know you make an outstanding case for the book, but are you capable of reproducing a dust cover to replace worn copies?

Hey Jamesld,

unfortunately, no. Different equipment, different techniques.

While on this topic, please allow me a question; I have a mint 1st edition copy - book, that is. The dust jacket has done its job over the years, and is showing some edge curling and small tears.
I was considering reinforcing the back side edges of this jacket with Scotch 'magic tape'.
In the eyes of the collector, will this deface the book/diminish the value? Is it better to leave it as is, or is there an 'approved' repair technique?
Of life's mysteries, this one's pretty small - but as the topic is open.....

Hey Garth,

in my opinion, anything you can do to stop it to deteriorate further cannot be detrimental.

But ultimately, what you need is a case
