Well I forged ahead today and put a ratchet strap on each side of the release arm. I put quite a bit of tension on them, but not enough to fully retract the arm. I used the pry bar to move it the rest of the way. This worked pretty good and I didn’t get any broken ratchet strap assemblies flung into my noggin. I adjusted each of the three H-tabs numerous times until it looked like I had pretty even gaps on both sides of the intermediate plate. I rechecked and triple checked them all over and over again. Buttoned everything back up and will take her for a test drive.....probably tomorrow as Georgia is going to shelter in place provisions for quarantine on Friday. The car drove pretty great before so hopefully she does even better now.
