Tips on removing lower plastic rocker panels/cladding
87 S4.
I have it stripped this far. Any tips on removeing the lower plastic cladding. May as well go all the way and pull it off also. Pretty sure it has never been off.
Wise idea... Or. Leave it
Any consumable / breakable parts here.
Best adhesive.. Tape etc to. Reattach it all.

Remove all the screws and bolts.
I used a metal putty knife and a rubber mallet to separate it from the body. I started with the putty knife corner.
The rocker panels will pull off without them getting deformed.

Its assembly time.
cant find a part number for this little grommet. I have all the other ones.
i could probably get away with out it..but...my luck it would be the only rattle id end up with in the car.
ive got all these below...just not the small white one shown above (unless i have missed placed it)

There’s only a couple of short strips of double-sided adhesive up on top rear corner of the cover. WSM recommends playing heat gun over it around 50C to loosen. That’s obviously after removing top and bottom screws. I’ve got some 3M automotive adhesive strip to replace the original.
I’ve researched this as one time the car slipped off a rubber block on lift, and that rear underside of the cover was pushed in slightly. I also need to remove it then hope a heat gun will let me restore the plastic to normal. And allow end of cover to fit snugly round front of rear arch.
Edit: sorry I didn’t realise you had long since removed cover!
