Default Reengineered Window Switches

Has anyone thought of re-engineering the windows/wiper/sunroof switches with a better contact design (modern internals) along with back lighting while keeping the look and feel same as the original? I am sure someone in China can produce those for a reasonable price.

Back-lighted switches were available in the aftermarket at one point. AFAIK they are no longer offered.

I can think of at least three designs that came to the market - but issues with all of them after time.

In my '79 that only has 2 switches OEM, I added 2 more - one so I could run the front driving lights independently and the other for my electric power door locks. Your message has me thinking that maybe the proper type of marine switch could be used for the windows as well and be much more reliable. We'd need to find a low profile one as I had to move my window switches to the 2 inner positions since they were thinner and use the marine switches on the outside.
