Question Please educate me on: Crankshaft roll pins, flywheels, and fitment...

Hello !
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

DISCLAIMER: My engine is the mechanical equivalent of school cafeteria Mystery Meat.
This is a hybrid build, with a 5.0L block with 4.7 EuroS heads and CIS K Jet.
I hope to re-use the original 1981 manual transmission/clutch setup.

The original 4.7 crank does not have a roll pin, and I have 2 flywheels with no accommodation for a crankshaft roll pin.
Original crank...

2 available flywheels...

5.0L block with crankshaft and roll pin...

Questions, please...
1) What is the purpose of the crankshaft roll pin?
2) Is there any way to use a 4.7 block-type flywheel on this 5.0L crank?
3) What would you do? Should I just locate a later model flywheel? Will I still be able to use my 4.7 clutch parts if I go with an "updated" flywheel?

Again, thank you very much for taking the time to read this. I truly appreciate the guidance and expertise.

Dan

#3 - Remove the roll pin and use whatever flywheel you please.

Thank you gentlemen !
I had to use a Scheissco special tool to pull the roll pin. I was able to attach the vise grip to the pin and then gently tap backwards on the wrench to pop it out...

Flywheel on, brand-new sexy bolts courtesy of Roger with light oil on install, 2-stage torquing comes next...
