I'm hoping somebody can get a set and take some measurements so I don't have to get yet another set of LED H4s (I currently have 4 or 5 sets, I think).
Hello Ed,
I had a fire on my farm and lost a big barn 18 month ago.
So I had a lot of trouble with the insurance company and the daily work in my business.
So the 928 was a little bit my stepchild the last year. I think after finishing the blower repair I change the bulbs.
But my daily driver, a Audi S8 MJ 2001 , has Xenon high beam but terrible low beam with H7 bulbs.
This was the reason to search new LED tech.
After thinking about the Osram bulb I‘m concerned about the sealing. It‘s a one piece Design so we can‘t use a dust cap.
The bulbs arrived this afternoon so I changed them on the S8 to show the concept. Nice compact design of the H7 On the driverside new LED, other side H7 Nice fitting with a lot of room Both lamps installed
It looks like to me like you'd install the three-tab flange piece, then install the sealing cap, and then the rest of the bulb assembly through the sealing cap (and twist).
If the barrel (cylindrical part extending out from the three-tab flange) diameter at the point where it contacts the sealing cap is 22 mm and is at least 10 mm long (see an old post for a good reference photo), it will probably work.
Edit: wait... actually, there's a possible interference spot (with respect to 928-H4-Cap-22 sealing caps) that I'm worried about. There's a pocketed area on the outside of sealing cap surrounding the barrel hole, but the diameter is only 30 mm. That part of the heat sink looks to be at least 35 mm in diameter. Most other LED H4 bulbs have a tapered area for the heat sink at this point, rather than just having a big, flat, cylindrical area. Could be a problem. Potential area of interference with 928-H4-Cap-22 sealing cap.

I better just get some of these bulbs so I can make sure they either work with the existing sealing caps or modify the sealing cap design so the next batch will support them.
